Ok, ok, maybe i appeared to have mislead you guys. I am probably the last person to buy MS. I despise it. I hate the fact that Bill Gates sits in his office trying to monipilate an industry which has indefinate posibilities. This new software for example. Vista. It is the same as Mac Tiger 10. How old is that aoftware????? Yeah and MS is just now starting to roll out that product line. Th mac people are sitting at there cubes laughing at Gates. he is a moron, this is just my personal opinion. but anywyas what i menat to say about google is that MS is trying to put them to rest with there new toolbars which people hate. I dont see google going anywhere, but i can tell you that google and MS are not competitors they actually work hand in hand. Ms is an operating system, Google is a search tool whether it be for maps, words, pix you name it it helps you. I do how ever feel that google has an upper hand and a disadvantage. Google has developers who cna manipulate the code to improve and there fore is attracting an enormouse amount of prgramers to play with its tools. Who in there right mind doesnt enjoy playing with someone else toys. LOL!!!! I know i do. But Ms is showing that there is always someone out there that for the right amount of money they will sell out. this is not something i completly agree with but its true. MS has billions of $$ backing it therefore can affored to go after its competiontion and fail. Again going back to vista. The new requirements to run this program succesfully most normal companies cant even or dont have the capailities to do. Bill gates knows this there fore he is making a killing on ignorant business giants or shall i say business man who feel they need the latest and greatest there is out there. The average business now adays is moving to a mobile workforce therefore each new laptp with a new OS (vista) is about oh $2200.00 just hardware and software. This doesnt include the man hours to load it and make sure it works. Put the math together and tell me why i would like MS. there busines modle is a scam and everyone see this but no one really cares to do nothing about it. ANyways my fingers are tired let me know what yall think. JHG

Web 2.0

Ok so I agreed with alot Mr O’Reilly had to say. He is very explicit with the inforation he provided and for the most part i think he is right. Just one thing I dont agree that Microsoft is not going to be able to beat Google out in its desktop. I am all for the user based products, things we can im,prove and be made better the more we use it. MS though is now starting to take on that concept the articlew was describing. The article is now some time old and since MS has gone to a user freidnly enviorment with it’s code. MS has realized that when the poeple who gathered to decide web 2.0 decide to meet and create web 3.0 in order to stay afloat this is something necessary. It is now hard to survive on the web and all the code outthere availble if it is usefull it is being baught by MS. Take for example a product that was named lookout for outlook, it was a free tool which helped search through your inbox at lighting speed. two years ago it was a free tool that was being developed and helped along by its users. This technology has since been purchased and incorporated into the new vista program. It is no longer free. Anywyas this is just one example, another exmaple Linux, this is a free develpper software that is available for software but if you wnat support you must purchase the over lay which is Red Hat. This as well is free untill you need support. Although alot of usefull technologies are availble the fact that someone always has to make some money off it will determine exactly ow long the product will remain free. The more usefull the product the dfaster people will try to come out with something patened for it. I am all for the movement of web 3.0 if it happens but i dont think that will happen untill Ms is completly disasembled.
